I like 'Zohmbi' infinitely more, especially how you have it on the top of the page now, with the umlaut.

That I was never able to figure out. Back at USC, Syd Field himself explained his paradigm to me and he never made it clear how the midpoint is any different from Plot Point 1 or Plot Point 2, or why the second act is so damn long. I think what it comes down to is a kind of sandwich mindset. The buildup and the denouement are two slices of bread and the second act is all the meat in between.

So if they're mostly 4 acts, why aren't they recognized as such? Why does everyone refer to them as 3 acts?

I think a lot of it has to do with pacing, and the emotional beats that the viewing public has grown accustomed to after umpteen gajillion years of drama consumption. Our "three" act paradigm is really a four act structure if you really break it down. Act 2 is double-length and the "midpoint" is just another plot point when it comes right down to it. There's a neat piece of Mac and iOS software called Contour (from Mariner Software) that'll help you get even more granular with it. I also recommend a book called The Coffee Break Screenwriter, which likewise further breaks down the acts and lays out all the "necessary" setups and payoffs.

Okaaay. That's enough. Thaaat's enough of that video/song. I made it to 3:00. That's it for me. I clearly need sleep. And I clearly don't need those-these, feelings.
